The plate was handmade on the potters wheel from porcelain clay. The rim of the plate was slightly altered while the clay was still wet to make a wavy edge. It was fired to over 2300F in an electric kiln. It would be perfect as an appetizer plate, to serve a side dish or as a wall hanging.

The plate has silvery green zinc crystals on a that fades from a bright to a dark green background with some white highlights. These crystals actually GROW during the firing and cooling process! No two pieces are ever alike. As the glaze melts, it pools into the center of the plate, with a deep color in the center where some of the crystals seem to be floating in the frozen glaze with a crackle pattern.
