Guest Artist Spotlight: Kathrine Lovell

I am very excited to welcome back Kathrine Lovell as a guest artist in the studio this weekend! Her pieces were a hit last year, and she sold out of her beautiful 4”x4” paintings.

Kathrine works in her studio in the backyard of her home in Tiverton RI, where she lives with her wife and dogs. In addition to being an amazingly lovely person, she has a painting degree from RISD, where was also an instructor. She is a former board member and current artist member of the South Coast Artists. She has been an educator for over 2 decades and is currently teaching out of her studio and at the Handicraft Club in Providence RI. Her work can be found worldwide through licensing agreements with Wild Apple of Woodstock Vermont, and Plum Gallery in Saint Augustine FL and the Drawing Room in New Bedford MA.

This weekend she will have a limited selection of small paintings inspired by seasonal and local botanicals combined with geometric patterning and gold leaf.  These are perfect for holiday gifts for you and your loved ones.

New from the kiln

crystalline bottle stopper

The kilns have been firing non-stop the past couple of weeks and I am excited to share some of the latest creations. My new bottle stoppers have been quite popular, and I have managed to create a large selection of colors, shapes and sizes that are now available. These are wheel thrown porcelain that are then crystalline glazed. The stoppers are made from high-quality, food grade, stainless steel and would make great host/hostess gifts, for white elephant parties, etc. They can be used for wine, sparkling drinks, olive oil, etc…any bottle that needs stopping can be adorned with one of these crystalline stoppers!

crystalline tray

Another small gift idea making a comeback this week has been the crystalline tray. These sold out earlier in the fall, and I now have a wide selection available online and in the studio. These come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors and have great multi-purpose uses.

There are also many more items to see from the studio. If you can’t make your visit in person, the website is fully stocked, and all items listed are ready to ship. The major shipping carriers say that items shipped on Dec. 18th will arrive in time for the Christmas holiday, so you still have several days to find the perfect gift and have it shipped.

If you want to visit the studio within the next week, I will be open:

  • Saturday Dec. 16 & Sunday De. 17 from 10-4pm
  • Saturday Dec. 23 from 10-4pm
  • Sunday Dec. 24 from 10-2pm

Thank you for choosing to support the arts!
