Anna Cherepowich Art

Anna is a 16-year-old high school student from Massachusetts. For as long as she can remember, she’s been fascinated by the blue on our planet, naming off fish and coral species, and learning the workings of the oceans. Art has been a passion of Anna’s just as long as learning about the oceans has. She loves combining her love for marine life and the environment with her love for art, so most of her artwork features nature.

Her most-used mediums include Copic markers, Prismacolor colored pencils, and graphite pencil. Anna has discovered that each piece is a learning experience and hopes that she can inspire others too. We know more about the moon than our oceans. She wants to use her art to be able to make people more aware of the 71% of the surface of our Earth that is ocean and the problems it faces in our rapidly changing climate.

Most of Anna’s artwork showcases marine life and the workings of the environment as she attempts to combine her love of marine biology and environmental science with her love of art. Most of her work is made using Copic markers and Prismacolor colored pencils. Her goal is to use her art to spread awareness about the problems our environment, and especially our oceans, face in our rapidly changing climate. In addition, Anna is currently working to raise funds to help pay for her science-based school trip to Iceland in June which will allow her to see how Iceland is taking advantage of geothermal energy to live sustainably.

This weekend, she will offer original pieces as well as prints. You can also follow her journey on Instagram
